About the Gathering
This New Year's, we invite you to join our Emerging Hearts Contact Improvisation Community Jam—a special chance to dance your way into the new year surrounded by familiar faces and friends. This gathering is all about co-creating a warm, supportive space where everyone can move, share, and inspire one another.
We look forward to spending the festivities living, eating, dancing, sharing and simply hanging out with our lovely community in a small and intimate residential setting. We will have skills sessions, sharing opportunities, jams and dance parties bringing us together in a safe space all in the spirit of CI, human connection and embodiment. d approach to this practice. - Rebecca B
Everything about the retreat nourished a sense of trust in the group and the practice. The flow from the dance spaces into kitchen duties, conversations, the small rituals we did, it all seemed seamless. Crossing a threshold like new year carries a lot of potency so I loved the subtlety - it allowed space for celebration and challenge. It feels like a lovely winter holding space. About The Venue
I loved the venue; it felt like the ideal size for the number of people we had. The lounge was great and the sauna was superb. It was also so lovely to cook and eat together. - Johnny A
Eden Rise, our venue for this year's gathering, is a small, cosy and well-heated retreat centre tucked away on the outskirts of Totnes, in the Devonshire countryside. With a strong focus on sustainability and community connection, this beautiful spot is a perfect match for Emerging Hearts. You can sink into cosy sofas, unwind in the sauna, and soak up the peaceful surroundings. The rooms offer a blend of warmth and community atmosphere for a restful night's sleep. Plus, we look forward to dancing all day and night in the stunning Albion Room.
Parking: On-site parking is reserved for non-res tickets and vans. Off-site parking available for residential tickets, a shuttle service will be provided to and from the venue.
Lift Share: A lift share document will be made available to participants.
Public Transport: The nearest train station is Totnes, just 1.5 miles away from Eden Rise. For guests arriving by train, we also offer a shuttle service to make your journey easy and seamless.
Food
The gathering is fully catered with vegetarian / vegan breakfast, lunch and dinner. We will also have a NYE celebration dinner.
As part of our community event, each participant will be required to take part in one cooking shift and one cleaning shift during the retreat. Both shifts will involve working in small teams alongside our chefs.

Single Bed within a Twin Room: £495 (6 beds / 3 rooms available) - Private twin room (two single beds / not bunkbeds) with small sink.
Single Bed - Mixed Dorm Room: £395 (4 beds available) - Single bed (not bunkbed) in a mixed dorm room.
Single Bed - Mixed Dorm (Twin Beds in Partitioned Pod): £445 (4 beds available) - Single bed (not bunkbed) within a private partitioned pod in a mixed dorm room.
Small Double Bed (2-person ticket) - Mixed Dorm (Partitioned Pod): £795 (2 beds available) - This ticket is suitable for a couple or friends who are happy to share a small double bed (120x190cm) within a private partitioned pod in a dorm room.
Live-In Vehicle (up to 6 metres): £295 - per person. (2 vehicle spaces available) - Parking on the retreat centre driveway on a flat, hard surface.
Non-Residential: £295 (5 spaces available) - Find your own accommodation in the surrounding area. (comes with an on-site parking space)
